Kevin Mooney is a Vancouver native whose several careers have taken him all over the province. A partner in Westwind Forestry Ltd., he personally planted over one million seedlings from 1973-1984. With a background as a professional chef, in 1990 he opened Cafe Django, a groundbreaking live music restaurant, and in 1993, in partnership with the Vancouver Fire Department, he founded the Neighbourhood Firehall Concert series, which features musicians performing in fire halls all over the city as fundraisers for the burn fund. In 1997 he launched The Vancouver Sun Community Concert Series, which produced 360 concerts in 20 Lower Mainland communities. Kevin is currently a managing partner of Shaughnessy Restaurant and also co-producer of North Shore Jazz, which is approaching its 8th season in June '09, presenting international and local artists in venues in North and West Vancouver. He is Treasurer on the board of Theatre Conspiracy and on the Advisory Board of the Vancouver Community College School of Music.
